Kelaghai, an ancient and incomparable sample of Azerbaijani folk art passed down through the generations was included in UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity — under the title Art and Symbolism of Azerbaijani Kelaghai.

Eight years ago, on November 26, kelaghai, an ancient and incomparable sample of Azerbaijani folk art passed down through the generations was included in UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity — under the title Art and Symbolism of Azerbaijani Kelaghai.

This is one of a number of achievements made thanks to the constant state-level attention, support, and preservation of national spiritual values. It is gratifying that kelaghai art continues to develop. The Azerbaijani National Carpet Museum also greatly contributes to preserving and promoting this significant cultural heritage. The museum's Textile, Clothing, and Embroidery collection houses rare exhibits displaying the richness of kelaghai art.
