Master classes on the restoration of the forgotten techniques of embroidery within the project “The Cultural Wealth of Azerbaijan”

From 9 to 14 December 2016, in the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum within the project “The Cultural Wealth of Azerbaijan” are organized master classes on the restoration of the forgotten techniques of embroidery. Master classes are conducted by Madina Kasimbayeva, Uzbekistan expert on suzani embroidery. Madina Kasimbayeva, as a master of embroidery, works as professional training instructor in Business Women's Association of Uzbekistan “Tadbirkor ayol”. She took part in a number of training courses held by professional organizations and institutions, as well as exhibitions. Her first individual exhibition “Spring Breath of Suzani” was held in 2008. M. Kasimbayeva reconstructed Tashkent embroidery school called “Tashkent pilaks” in 2015 and at the same year, she was awarded with “Quality mark” certification in the exhibition “Textile products” held by UNESCO and Association of light industry of UNESCO.

Master classes on the restoration of the forgotten techniques of embroidery are one of the programs of the project “The Cultural Wealth of Azerbaijan”. This program is jointly organized by the National Commission of Azerbaijan for UNESCO and Azerbaijan Carpet Museum. The purpose of the program is the training of professionals in this field and the establishment of the museum restoration center that meets international standards.
