A representation of the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum at ICOM INTERCOM’s annual conference
On 23-25 February 2018, the annual conference of ICOM International Committee for Museum Management (INTERCOM) was held at the Emami Art, Kolkata center for creativity, India.
80 representatives from 20 countries (Azerbaijan, Denmark, UK, Japan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Romania, Italy, India, USA, etc.) participated in the conference.
At the conference Rema Zeynalova, representative of the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, gave a presentation about "Azerbaijan Carpet Museum as one of the promotion factors of cultural tourism in Azerbaijan". In her presentation she talked about the rise of tourists flow in Azerbaijan in recent years, and also about the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum as the most visited museum by tourists and the museum's activity.
Within the framework of the Conference, the participants visited the Indian Museum in Kolkata, held discussions at the round-table on the future of museums and get familiarized with the restoration and conservation works carried out in the museum.
