The 3rd International Symposium Common Language of Turkic World ˗ Patterns on the topic Intersections in Felt will be held on October 25-27 in Baku. The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum within the support of the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO, the Council for Humanitarian Cooperation of the Member States of the CIS (МФГС), and the Baku Yunus Emre Institute. Art historians, artists, and fashion designers from 22 countries will take part at the international symposium.
A fair exhibition of handmade felt products will be organized within the framework of the symposium with the support of the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve. Twelve famous masters from different countries will take part in it. They are Ajap Bayrieva (Turkmenistan), Aizhan Bekkulova and Elmira Akpanova (Kazakhstan), Irina Arsenyeva and Yulia Orlova (Russia), Harm Harms (the Netherlands). Azerbaijan will be represented by Zarina Asadova, Gunel Huseynova, Yuliya Nalchabasmaz, Olga Abbasova and Irina Denisova, as well as Makhbuba Mamedova, founder of Ozelim brand.
At the fair one can see and buy fashionable felt clothing, various hats and elegant shoes, numerous accessories made of felt ˗ handbags and phone cases, shawls and tippets, brooches, beads and necklaces, as well as soft toys and designer dolls.
A three day fair will be held on October 25-27, from 10.00 to 17.00 at Dord Bucaqlı Qala Square on Kichik Gala Street in Icherisheher, behind Sabir Square.
