Bird figure.
Let's take a closer look at the pendant from the museum's Jewelry collection!
Archaeological materials from the excavations of settlements and burials in various regions of Azerbaijan show that neck decorations were supplemented with pendants produced in different shapes.
One of the most frequently used pictorial motifs found with Azerbaijani jewelry is the image of a bird. During the era when ancient Azerbaijan’s tribal society disintegrated, the connection between a tribe and certain animals was reflected on bronze jewelry in the images of birds such as ducks, pigeons, and roosters.
Amulets in the form of birds, most of which were hollow, with triangular slits on the base and a loop on the back, were widely distributed.
