The Nizami Cinema Center hosted the premiere of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum's (ANCM) Celebrity Virtual Tour film project.

Yesterday, December 15, the Nizami Cinema Center hosted the premiere of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum's (ANCM) Celebrity Virtual Tour film project. This project is one of a series of events celebrating the museum's 55th anniversary and greatly contributes to educational activities in national cultural traditions.

Well-known media and art representatives take us on a virtual tour around the museum space and narrate the museum’s history, samples of national cultural heritage, and interesting traditions associated with them. Famous TV presenters Emil Shahzada, Leyla Guliyeva, Konul Arifgizi, Deniz Tajeddin, Fariz Ilyasov, Tural Asadov, Shabnam Turan, and Honored Artists Nargiz Karimova, Dilara Salim and Oleg Amirbayov guide us in this journey. The film project is written by Dr Shirin Melikova and directed by Mubariz Nagiyev.

At the premiere, the creative team shared their memories of working on the film. Dr. Shirin Melikova, Director of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, Honored Cultural Worker noted: “We first start to film the tour in 2020. The project idea emerged during the pandemic when people could not visit museums and other cultural centers. To make our museum even more accessible and bring people closer to carpet art, we have enhanced our online activities. The museum presented the project's first part on May 18, 2020, on International Museum Day. I believe that the film's whole version will be another contribution to promoting our national cultural heritage. We will continue to work on this project to further develop our audience, and present it in English and Russian.”

Celebrity Virtual Tour available on the ANCM's YouTube channel offers Azerbaijani Sign Language, which is significant for adopting an inclusive attitude throughout the country’s museum sector.
