Meeting with the Metropolitan

On March 14, 2017 at the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum was held the meeting with the delegation which was led by the metropolitan of Russian city of Novgorod and Staraya Russa Lev. The meeting was attended by the Director of United Museum-Preserve of Novgorod Natalia Grigorieva ,the Doctor of Political Sciences, the Professor of World politics, the chairman of the commission of International Relations at St. Peterburg State University Olga Cerpickaya, the archbishop of Baku and Azerbaijan Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church Alexander Ishein, the secretary of the Baku Eparchy office, the protopope of the Archangel Michael Church which comply to the Baku Eparchy Methodius Edendiyev, the head of the Cultural Institutions and Folk Art Department at the The Ministry of Culture and Tourism Fikret Babayev, the head of Control Sector of the Ministry's Museum and Cultural Resources Azada Huseynova, the director of Azerbaijan Carpet Museum Shirin Melikova, the director deputy of the Azerbaijan National Museum of History Mahfuze Zeynalova, the Director of the Museum Center Liana Vezirova and the deputy chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office of Cultural Affairs, carpet artist Eldar Mikayilzadeh.

During the meeting were discussed issues related to the museums' activity, The Modern Museum - the modern museum standarts in accordance with the requirements of time, the museum's cooperation with public, entrepreneurs and individual persons, the implementaion of multimedia technologies in museums and their influence to the younger generation, the coherence of younger generation with the museum, the singning of agreement in the field of cooperation between the Museum-Reserve Novgorod and the Baku museums.

After the meeting, the guests were acquainted with the exposition and jewelry fund of the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum. The director of the museum, Shirin Melikova informed guests about the Azerbaijani Carpet Weaving Art.
