Azerbaijan Carpet Museum at the International Festival Intermuseum 2019
Azerbaijan Carpet Museum takes part in the 21st International Festival Intermuseum, held in Moscow, in the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall, from May 30 to June 2. The International Festival Intermuseum is the main museum event of the year.
Professionals’ Dialogue is the key topic of this year museum forum. Alla Manilova, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, noted that regional museums received wide coverage in this year’s festival.
Aynur Mammadova, Senior Specialist on Museum Development made a presentation on the topic Methods of Replenishment of Azerbaijan Carpet Museum Collections at the scientific conference within the festival.
Azerbaijan Carpet Museum’s stand presents to all comers its booklets, books, and other printed products, as well as replicas of museum exhibits woven by the staff of the Traditional Technologies Department: flat-woven sumakh and two pile Karabakh Chelebi and Gazakh carpets. A master class on weaving a flat-woven zili carpet and coloring of carpet ornaments created in the museum is also presented at the stand.
