The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum invite you to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The Chinese New Year 2020 of the White Metal Rat will start on January 25, 2020. The Rat is the first of the 12-year cycle of animals which appear in the Chinese zodiac related to the Chinese calendar.

The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum organizes masterclasses on Chinese traditions for children and adults from January 10 to 18.

On top of that, the Museum invites everyone to take part in the lecture on Chinese art on January 11 at 14.00.

Masterclasses will be lead by teachers of the Confucius Institute in Baku. In pursuance of the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan On Declaring 2020 the Year of Volunteers in the Republic of Azerbaijan, student volunteers will provide translation from the Chinese language.

Mark your calendars to join our Chinese New Year celebration and plunge into the atmosphere of the holiday with its decorations, lanterns and traditional symbols.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum works closely with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Azerbaijan and the museums of the PRC. Last year, the Museum took part in The Splendor of Asia - An Exhibition of Asian Civilizations in Hainan, China. More than three million visitors could observe here Azerbaijani carpets and other objects of Azerbaijani decorative and applied art from the collections of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.

The festive event at the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum will be another step towards strengthening cultural relations between our two countries.
