Dear Friends!
As you know, the conservation of our exhibits is one of the main spheres of our activity. Let's take a closer look at the next exhibit from our Textile, Clothing, Embroidery collection that underwent conservation.
The fabric base of the embroidery was damaged in some places, and there were distortions on the lining. During the conservation, the embroidery lining was unpicked and then sewn again with a restoration suture. The integrity of the fabric basis of embroidery was restored by a special conservation method: its missing parts were replaced with pieces of the fabric of suitable texture and color, sewn together with a matching seam and threads of the corresponding color.
