Lamagabaghi (curtain for decoration)
Our next object from the museum’s Carpet Products collection is LAMAGABAGHI.
Until recently, one of the components of a home’s interior decoration was lamagabaghi. A lama was a wall shelf of human height that was used for kitchen utensils that were made of brick, wood, and clay. A cotton curtain, made using the zili technique, decorated the top or bottom of a shelf, or created a separate place to store milk products in a tent. At the bottom of lamagabaghi, a grid with a bandi-rumi composition was sewn and completed with tassels.
