Shape Arts, Goss Consultancy Ltd, and the British Council Azerbaijan conducted training on Promoting and Embedding Disability Equality Across Azerbaijan Museums. Along with foreign experts, Dr Shirin Melikova, the Director of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum delivered a presentation about the ANCM inclusive projects and experience. She emphasized that one of the museum's foremost activities is to be accessible for all, without exception, including visitors with disabilities. Dr Melikova gave information about the museum's permanent exhibition that includes a tactile display, audio recording in several languages, captions in Braille, and sign language translation. She added that the visitors in wheelchairs can easily and independently navigate our spaces. The museum's Traditional Technologies Department and the Education Department regularly conduct masterclasses for individuals with disabilities. Shirin Melikova mentioned the ANCM inclusive program that the State Hermitage plans to adapt to its permanent exhibition this year. The museum director also told about the museum's recent Virtual Tour project that makes it possible to visit the ANCM from our homes. The tour is accompanied by a sign language translation.
