The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum to hold the International Museum Day

On May 18 the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum will hold series of events on the occasion of the International Museum Day.

The museum announces open day from 11:00 to 19:00 with the free tours in the Azerbaijani language.

May 18 is also the opening day of the exhibition Distinctive Love in Art dedicated to genius poet Muhammad Fuzuli. The exhibition displays the following works from the ANCM collection: carpets Fuzuli (1973) and Shabi-Hijran (1976) by Latif Karimov, carpets Shabi-Hijran (1983) and Layla and Majnun (2013) by Eldar Mikayilzade, carpet World of Fuzuli by Aydin Rajabov, carpet Fuzuli (1975) by PhD in Art Jafar Mujiri and carpet Fuzuli (1987) by the artist Gulmurad Babirov. The exposition will feature the sketch of the carpet Fuzuli (1958) by the People’s Artist Kamil Aliyev, decorative panel Fuzuli by Rafig Gambarov, furthermore, elements from the artistic designs created by Latif Karimov for the books dedicated to Fuzuli will be exhibited for the first time. The exhibition of the artworks reflecting the artistic heritage of the genius poet will run until May 30.

The Children’s Department of the ANCM will premiere the shadow play Layla and Majnun (12:00, 14:00, 16:00, 18:00) and organize master-classes.
