Shusha living in patterns
On May 8, 2016 at the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, with the organizational support of the Museum and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Shusha city Executive Authorities, was held an event Shusha living in patterns dedicated to the 24th anniversary of the capture of the city.
The event was accompanied by the speeches of the director of the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, former head of the Shusha branch of the State Museum of Azerbaijan Carpet and Applied Art, employees of the Executive Authorities, and scientists in the field of carpet weaving art.
In the artistic part of the event were presented a play of the writer Huseynbala Miralamov Scream of the Shooted Monuments, performed by the actors of the Shusha Musical Drama Theater. Here were also performed patriotic songs and presented the exhibition Memories of Shusha.
At the end of the event the guests were presented with a catalog Shusha branch of the State Museum of Azerbaijan Carpet and Applied Art. The catalog provides information on the history of Shusha city and Shusha branch, as well as about the Karabakh handicrafts. Moreover, it provides an opportunity to see the exhibits that were saved during the capture of the Shusha branch. Among the exhibits are pile and flat-woven carpets, carpets products, traditional costumes and embroidery, jewelry and daggers.
